You can adjust the coin controller. You can try a little with the screw in the middle, which you see on the 2nd picture on the right lower side. However, when trying you should memorise how much you haved turned the screw into which direction, so that if it doesn't work you can reset it.

BTW: Have you tried with Euros? Maybe the coin controller had already been adapted to Euros!?

Welcome! Pleae let us know when it has arrived. Hope everything will be fine and nothing broken. The weight is about 50 kg. Our Deutsche Post here would not transport it (or at least not for acceptable prices). You would need to find another transport company instead.

When you have the machine you will see how it works. On top of the 5 DM tube there is a silver metal clip. When the tube is full with coins, the clip will mechanically close the tube and the coins will be redirected to the cash box. You may fix or bend the clip a little so that it will always close the tube.

Yes, that's correct apart from that the 5 DM will first go into the respective tube if the tube is not full with coins. Hence, the tube needs to be full before it goes into the cash box (but you could manipulate the tube controller on top of the 5DM tube so that it always goes directly into the cash box).

Yes, you could also use token or shims to fill the tubes (the machine doesn't know ;-)), but you surely know that you cannot put them into the slot as long as the coin controller is not adjusted accordingly.

Generally the machine is working without money in the tubes. However, if it is requested to pay and there are no coins in the tubes, it will go on hold ("gestört"). It is then also possible to just switch off/on and the machine will start again. However, if you are above 110 DM, it will always try to pay 10 DM to get below 110. Therefore it would be good to have at least 10 DM in coins.

In Western-Germany (BRD) it was always allowed to win money at these slot machines. However, there are several Merkur Disc clones. At least one of it (Merkur Disc Point, 1989) is just for entertainment and you can only win points. However, your machine is the original Merkur Disc from 1984 and indeed gives you the possibility to win money. For me, the entertainment machines are boring. ;)

That's really cheap. Looks quite good, but would be interesting to see how it looks like when the hatch is closed (pushing the service switch). The lamp at the coin slot should then light up (indicating that the machine is ready) and after a while the animation lights are starting (changing lights on the front door).

BTW: The warranty card is from 1985 (roughly). ;)

Then your price for the Merkur Disc was really good. Are you sure it is working?

You can get DM from ebay.de, but must be aware that the exchange rate is mostly not 1:2 anymore. Some would even liketo have a rate of 1:1!

Not so easy. You need to modify not only the coin controller, but also the slot ways need to be thicker. So the whole "coin tower" has to be prepared. Better ask in a Forum like this or Geldspielfreunde.de or Goldserie.de if anyone can do this for you (should be possible for 30-40 € plus shipping).
